Of course it's also important to remember, we're making game art here, not technical reconstructions. Contrasts and thicknesses often need to be a little exaggerated in order to "bring them out" in-game. I'd say the happy median is somewhere between the plans and where you are right now, but given your question I think you already knew that

Most of the images you're using are actually copyrighted, so they should not be submitted to User Content. Avoid relying on Google Images to find clipart. Search for "public domain clipart," "royalty clipart," or "creative commons clipart" -- one of those or some combination thereof is likely to lead you to images where copyright isn't an issue.

Also, "borrowing" others' submitted content is not allowed. Please refrain from it.

That said, you're making good color choices and are going in generally the right direction. With the right clipart (or better yet, original art!) you'll be making quality flags in no time

Moved from the Shipwright Discussion forum, which is about building new 3D models to add to the game.

I won't say "no," but it's highly unlikely. If someone goes through the effort of making a ship, we want it to be one that will be seen, enjoyed, and used by a significant number of players. This is one of the reasons additional SoL's are not being accepted now: they would be ?-rare, and the general consensus is that the effort of modeller, Steering Committee, and FLS alike are best put towards more useful ships.

The devlog for it hasn't been written yet, but it's definitely in for 1.2. I'll try and pound on them next week for a devlog.

Inquiring minds want to know!

PS: I actually snuck a peak at the other two devlogs you put up last night. It looks like you've been working hard and taking lots of great player feedback to heart. Solid job across the board, man. I'll be excited for when the rest of the folks get a chance to read them.

I just noticed SWBghz that you are running SP1. Is that the release version? I have it, but I haven't put it on my gaming machine to test it.

There is clearly something going on as part of what happened today, and we're continuing to look at it. The point of this fix isn't just for us, it fixes a wide range of network issues. Check out http://computerbits.wordpress.com/20...a-auto-tuning/ for more info.

In the meantime, if you don't want to make this change, try and get your hands on SP1. I believe it has a number of improvements to this specific area and improves it in general without turning off the constant autotuning.
