pirates_local.ini does not exist by default, it must be created. I ought to have been more clear on that, sorry!

Editing pirates.ini will have no effect because Launchpad will revert your changes.

I've traveled in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. I'm currently in Australia for an extended trip. Everywhere I go, everyone asks if I'm Canadian because I've taken the time to read up on the cultures, the languages (Germany, Quebec & Sweden) and the Geography.

It is amazing how far that will take you. Heck, even here in Perth, Western Australia, I've met folks who have never even talked to an American before. Of course, I get *tons* of questions about the US.

I learned in Quebec that if people want to bash your politics, just ask "So, who's a separatist?" They'll just start fighting amongst themselves. And when I asserted myself like that, I ended up getting the beer and respect. You just have to know..ya know?

Since you are unable to hit the support site I would recommend attaching this log to a Station Support ticket. They own and maintain the launchpad and someone there should be able to identify what is going on. Sorry that you are unable to log in.

Appropriate for the time period, yes; appropriate for this incarnation of Pirates of the Burning Sea, no. We (FLS and the Ships Steering Committee, together and separately) periodically have had discussions on the topic of Asian ships for this game, and despite my own personal delight in the subject matter, in the end we come back to "it's too much of a stretch."

From the symptoms, it's clearly a networking problem, and we know a lot of people are in and playing through the established ports. What kind of networking set up do you have? (Router, cable modem, dsl, etc.)?
