This doesn't repro for me. It's gated on having a sliver of sail damage (0.1%).

It's supposed to be combat capable, and the base ship has abysmal acceleration.

Yup, that's why Cutthroats gained so much DPS hit in 1.4.

Provisions cost 40, Preparations cost 30.

As a lingering debuff, focused fire stacks with any other attack skills your group wants to use (Desperation Fire, Concentrated Fire, Ultima Ratio Regum).

Mainly the removal of evasion. It's quite rare that players actually had the combined set to take that kind of hit.

I wish I did! I would have used it while we were planning our beta.

Unfortunately the entire industry is tight-lipped about this kind of stuff.

I believe this is fixed in the next build.

It's hundreds of megs so taking many hours isn't unexpected. Days is unexpected. Check out Answer 200 for suggestions. However, the patch is hosted by SOE and LaunchPad is their tool. You may get more knowledgable service by asking them about it.

Can you log in to the regular servers? Usually, being unable to reach serverdir is a network issue - either having the game blocked by your spam blocker or such or by having a rogue setting in your pirates_local.ini.

1 in thread Character Transfers to be Enabled Tuesday, April 15th [News and Press Releases]
We have identified and fixed the problem that we'd taken character transfers offline for. Character transfers are back up; we do apologize for it having been down for so long -- mostly we just wanted to be absolutely certain the problem wouldn't come up again.

Just to add to this, while I'm not familiar with Blender, in many 3D applications "extrude" will yield better results. The reason: Scaling is usually calculated around the object's geometric centre, which often isn't what you need. Extruding usually follows the normals of each face (i.e. a perpendicular line drawn from the centre of the face), which is usually much closer to what you actually need for giving an object thickness.

You're off to a very solid start, in any case!

1 in thread Blackbeard died in 1718 [The Age of Piracy]
Remember that the Burning Sea world setting differs a little from actual history. In the game, Woodes Rogers was never appointed "Captain-General and Governor in Chief in and over the Bahama Islands;" and if that never happened, who's to say that Edward Teach would have been brought to justice prior to 1720?

1 in thread Emergency Reboot: Roberts [Important Announcements]
Reboot is done.

It's a bug that hits occasionally which prevents players from logging into the game. It's fixed in 1.4, I'm told.
