It's supposed to be combat capable, and the base ship has abysmal acceleration.

As a lingering debuff, focused fire stacks with any other attack skills your group wants to use (Desperation Fire, Concentrated Fire, Ultima Ratio Regum).

Mainly the removal of evasion. It's quite rare that players actually had the combined set to take that kind of hit.
