What I'd really like to do is come up with a way to get pirates involved in every port battle, regardless of who the attacker and defender are. I can think of some trivial ways to do that, but they don't have the 'jackals waiting to pull down the weaker combatant' visceral feel I'd like to get from this.

We're talking about a more explicit, unavoidable decay towards map victory currently. I'll let you know when we've made some decisions.

1 in thread Server Downtime: Friday, February 27th [Important Announcements]
We will be making some configuration changes during Friday’s 1:30a – 3:30a PST maintenance window. Changes include the following:

1) The addition of special celebration goodies (more information on that come Friday afternoon)
2) Minor adjustments to starting conquest point values to fix a bug we created in Beta
3) It will be more difficult to push starting ports into contention than other ports

We will share additional information as we move closer to the Friday morning maintenance window.

You can attach client logs with the manage attachments button on the reply page. My initial guess is that you have a sound crash that we're looking into. Turn your sound all the way down to zero and see if this helps.

So you checked and there are no client logs? Even if the game is crashing on startup it tends to get to the point where it will create a log.

When you get the application error what is the faulting application and what is the fault bucket?
