Actually, so far I'd consider every appeal worthwhile. At minimum two things happen:

1) The appellant either gets to use the flag or sail they want to in-game, or they get additional feedback on what needs to change.

2) The community as a whole -- including the devs who review flags and sails -- get a set of examples illustrating the guidelines, improving everyone's understanding of what works and what doesn't for the game.

That has value in and of itself, I think.

Actually, rather than talk about specific elements (because there are a lot of details that are being worked over to make sure the system works as we expect) let me address the heart of the concern with a philosophical statement:

Nation vs. Nation is a core element of the game. We're currently working on improving it.

The Skirmish system will be a fun addition to it to allow for some different kinds of PvP (no risk, much larger number players, etc.).

If the the Skirmish system has a real negative impact upon Nation vs. Nation, we'll change the Skirmish system until it doesn't.

You'd still have to attach the potbs subscription to the Station Pass. YOu might want to contact SOE to find out what is the issue; we don't have access to their billing structure.

Once we got to release, we looked back at what we'd done, and realized that we weren't really getting the value out of the work we'd put into the UI, so something about our process was clearly wrong. We restructured how we created UI, and the results are obvious. The team is doing superlative work, and this is just the beginning. I just wish I'd realized this a year ago. :-(

It's on the list. There are a few related issues.

Still no ETA from Packeteer on when they're going to have our signature added. Wish I had better news. On the bright side, we've done some UDP optimizations that are (I think) in 1.2, which may help the problem as well, since our packet signature will change.

MoVs and future PvP rewards are restricted to world PvP and cannot be earned through skirmishes.

You would need to be in Australia/New Zealand and get an account through Bigpond GameArena.

Also, you still have to buy each game individually. Wintersdark is correct about the subscription. It's simply a way for you to pay one subscription rate instead of let's say three, if you played Vanguard, PotBS and Everquest. It's cheaper for the station pass rather than paying three separate subscriptions.
