Yes. They're useful for us to see what weird stuff happened when debugging an issue you're reporting, but if you're not reporting a problem they're just taking up space. Nuke them at will.

DOH! I see there is a later devlog on this topic...
Here is where you can find the details:

I fail. Yes, you're correct, I wasn't thinking about that.

First off, I agree that not having an adequate number of hostile ships to work down contention, assuming the absence of hostile player forces, is a problem. It's something that we are working to fix, but fixing that problem is a much more complicated change than tweaking some unrest rates. It takes more time. It is, however, in progress.

Second, if you really want to defend a port that has unrest accumulation, you can spend the doubloons and do the economic turn ins for that port. While this will not work for ports that have been pushed into a PvP state, you can 'push back' before it gets that far.

Finally, defense is not supposed to be easy. While it is not supposed to be impossible (thus all the issues with economic 'bombing'), defense is supposed to be harder than offense. The natural progression of the game world should not be towards stasis, but towards conflict. You're supposed to be able to defend ports that are important to you, but a 'perfect defense' where none of your ports enter contention, should be nigh on impossible. Defending your ports should be showing up for the port battle and kicking some ***, not stopping the battle from ever happening. We have not done a good job of making that the situation. We're trying to address that now.

I realize this is par for the course for MMO forums, but we genuinely want to hear you. When every disagreement comes with "you game is going to fail, and your little dog too!" it makes it harder to hear your issues.

As I said before, ad hoc PvP is our highest priority, and anything we roll out has to be subordinate to that. As we roll out more details of what we're building, it's useful to get yours and similar inputs. So I'd appreciate it if you kept an open mind and kept giving us feedback as we go along.

There's one in the 2D User Content Guidelines sticky.

As for your informational request, I'll float it past our technical folks.

The best way to get feedback on your flag or sail is to make a thread for your works and post designs there, prior to submission. Requests for votes after submission can go in the Flag an Vote Requests sticky.

I should also mention, if you have a design you feel was unfairly sent back for more work, you may also follow the directions in the User Content Appeals thread to request your flag or sail be reconsidered.

To prevent confusion I'll close this thread, but you're welcome and encouraged to open a new one along the lines of "Bstripp's Flags and Sails" if you have additional designs you'd like to submit for the game
Marion vanGhent
Actually, the correct place to ask for flag and sail votes is the Flag and Sail Votes sticky. I normally merge posts with links to submissions into that thread, or edit it so people have their own flag and sail feedback thread to use for their designs before submitting. I sense there's some other question here though and want to ask for your help in clarifying it

Meanwhile, thanks for the feedback on the "forum overview."
