We recognize that this is a significant issue. We are increasing the doubloon drop rate of all NPC ships level 10 and up, and we are also increasing the amount of junk loot you receive from those same ships. Taken together, this should roughly double the doubloon value of high level NPC ships.

This will go live in patch 1.2, if not before.
