Lowbies are actually advised to stay out of red circles to avoid giving the enemy contention freebies.
We regularly see lower level players take out higher level players. The problem is that people show up with preconceived notions of how other games treat it, and assume they have to level up before they can take part in the PvP. I'm looking forward to an upcoming L2P write up that covers how to effectively PvP at low levels and solo.

Now, unfortunately, we have PvP zones being put up not to capture a port and play the RvR game, but simply to create long lasting, gank the lowbie, PvP zones. In some places the zones last weeks at a time because the attacker has no intention of attacking a port and the defender has no way to remove the zone either.
Yeah, we have a system we're not happy with that has lended itself to abuse with the various intermediate fixes we made to it. We've started work on the long term system now.

It has level based pvp so that you can't attack players more than 4 to 8 levels below you depending on the zone. This resolves some of the ganking issues because you can't have lvl 80's attacking lvl 11's. Because the open world is so large, it's not that hard to find balanced fights.

Aoc and Warh DEV previews talk alot about balanced open pvp. It can be done.
Levels aren't as important in our game as in EQ2. We'd have to have more restrictions of ship sizes and number.

So, you're saying the a preview of games that aren't actually released prove anything?

I do spend some time on other forums, most of the time defending FLS & Potbs.
Why? because i want Potbs to suceed as much as anyone.
And we appreciate it. But I'm clearly having trouble understanding you, because my interpretation of what you were saying is that you do have an issue with unfair fights. Could you elaborate a bit?

"For shallow waters outside of ports, the implementation is much harder, so we need to create a workable design, and prioritize with other work items."

Does that mean you actually plan on doing this or you can't do it or it's something you'll look at down the road?
Um, no. If the entire world was PvP, it would simply be a wider area for groups to prowl in and catch solo targets.

Something that we'll look at down the road.

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're looking for, but your application would need to either use your credentials, or ask the person using the application (via a dialog or form) for their credentials and use them.

If you DO use your user's credentials, you'd need to be very careful to keep them protected and secret.

It is possible to get application codes so the user only maybe only need his stationname?
Technical limitations with the way we do Station authentication and security concerns in providing them in unsecured POST data prevent us from using Station authentication for the Data Service API.

Next question, "ID Translations", when we get other languages?
I'm hoping we get the other translations with the next release of the Data Service API, in the coming weeks.
