Yes, we backed up. Restore would take as long if not longer than fixing.

That's a damn fine question. Still trying to figure that out. The changes include: We wrote a new server. Runs separately from the other servers (and by server, I mean like Login Server, Zone Server, and so on.) And added a web page. Which we haven't taken live yet. Server reads the db. Server hasn't written db yet. Oh, and we added some tranlated text from SOE. You know like strings for the error messages this new web page might throw. So, that broke career skills. Um... WTF?

Lesson learned: Even when the changes affect NOTHING else and that change has been tested thoroughly, everything can and will still go fubar somehow. So I guess we should never change anything. Ever again. Hrm... Somehow that doesn't sound quite right either.

We've tried to push all port battles out 24 hours although apparently we've missed at least one. We will be reviewing server status and doing what we can to ensure this impacts it as minimally as possible.

Actually, right now would be a good time. The folks working on the servers aren't the same folks who would be working said support ticket.

But, one needs the flag or sail itself in one's inventory to do that. Which means one needs to ask around on your server to see if you can find the flag/sail maker and buy a copy off him or her.
