1 in thread Project [Shipwright Discussion]
We're looking into some appropriate way to thank shipwrights for their awesome gift(s) to Pirates of the Burning Sea, but that is all I can say on the topic at this point. Keep in mind though, anyone who builds a ship for the game should do so because A) they love ships and think they will love building the models, B) they love the game, and C) it's an amazingly cool thing to see one's own work added to a real live MMORPG -- and for no other reasons

1 in thread Video Card Problems - The One True Thread [Known Issues / Troubleshooting]
We put in a quick hack to try and alleviate the symptoms. Early reports on testbed were positive, but there's a much broader audience on the live servers.

Reset assured, we're still working with NVidia to get to the bottom of this.

Thanks for all the information, it's been invaluable.

The problem is that i can play the game for the most part, but it is laggy ( I walk around the city and i see one person stand in one spot and then appear in another spot with out seeing them move there), but i really notice the problem when ever i go sailing.

I load into my ship like normal, but when ever i try to move it, it doesn't do anything. You try to turn you ship it point in that direction as long as you hold the key but when you release it you point in the direction you originally where, and when you increase your sail you move forward slightly and then you go back to your original spot and you have no power.

When i did this with my Sister (she has the game and her computer is next to mine.), it show me moving on here screen but i remain in the same spot i started out at.

There is away around this but its annouying you move your ship and stop and wait a minute or tell the screen refreshs and repeat this step over and over and over agian. This is really annouying cause i can't really do anything besides fight outside the ship, this makes it insanely hard to fight ship fights.

HOW DO I FIX THIS!!!!!
oh my video is a radion 9600 with 256 built-in memory.
I have attached my DXdiag file below.
Also, your video card is pretty low end - make sure your graphics preferences are set to 'performance' in every case possible.

You need Pixel Shader 2.0. If you meet the min spec, you'll have that.

I don't recall Burt Lancaster or Errol Flynn fishing in any pirate movies I have seen.

1 in thread gold sellers out in force [Known Issues / Troubleshooting]
Yes, and that's better, faster, easier for you and for us than a screenshot. But a screenshot works too if that's what you'd rather.

Thanks again for everyone reporting these. We did a bunch of bans last night and we're still working on ways to prevent this and to make it easier for you to report.

1 in thread Can't connect to support.flyinglab.com? [Known Issues / Troubleshooting]
The problem RightNow was experiencing where folks were timing out after reaching Saavis is fixed. Other problems connecting to support may remain, but they're different. That bit about Internal Server Error, for example, is completely unrelated.

Thanks for your patience. Closing this thread as this issue is resolved. We're continuing to work on the other issues.

Omega13, that's not graphics lag, that's network lag. See Answer 144 for more info.

1 in thread 8 gun privateer sloop with bow chasers [Shipwright Discussion]
Whatever rigging you want to go with, please post an orthogonally-projected side view of what you intend so the Steering Committee can examine it and recommend any changes.

Note however that completely lug-rigged craft do not seem to have had topsails prior to about 1760. That's not to say lugger topsails didn't exist before then; the earliest I've seen represented is an English brigantine circa 1725. Nor is this to say the S. C. isn't open to having them, we'll just need to talk it through and see if we can't find any additional documentation from 1740 or before.

1 in thread reasons for rejection? [Flags and Sails]
The reasons we send back User Content for more work are all found here. We encourage everyone to post their work in the forum first as well, and if more people did that, we'd see far fewer "rejected" entries. I would love for that to happen.
