I'm told this is a UI issue, not the bug it might appear to be. I'm hearing that you don't lose them when you sink; it just says you do. I haven't tested this. Have you?

OK, so if I understand you all correctly, you finished a mission called "Study Period," which had you speak to your scholar friend, who is at Cray's house. After completing that quest, nothing was offered to you?

The next mission is called "Captive Audience" and it is level 25. The only requirement for it is that you have done "Study Period" and be high enough level. Since some people have gotten it and others have not, it doesn't appear to be %100 reproducable, which makes it very difficult to track down the problem.

If you've completed "Study Period" and are at least level 21, I would first ask that you go back to Cray's house to see if "Captive Audience" is offered, just in case it was a hiccup in the mission server. If not, file a detailed support ticket.

The good news is, we've figured out a way to get you any mission rewards that you missed, including items. This will happen automagically after the next patch.

Corte formed up a 6 man group today, comprising 3 Hercules, 1 Deliverance, 1 Reason and 1 Discovery. We had plans for the evening, but saw that Sisal and Campeche had obviously been flipped using turn ins, so we decided to head down and try and clear the zone (you know, being that its our starting towns and Econ Tutorial ports).

So we put on our PVP flags, and head on over.

Now, theres something you may not know about us. We only PVP with everyone on vent. We stay tight on the Open Sea. We exit battles as a group. This is what we do, and we do it as best as we humanly can.

So, we move into the zone. First thing that happens is we get pulled (as a group) into an instance. Its a lone pirate, and he turns and runs without firing a single shot. We wait till all members are out of combat, and we exit. We move maybe 10 miles, and as soon as adhoc invis drops we are pulled into another instance (as a group). Again, its a solo pirate, who turns and runs without firing a single shot.

This happens possibly 4 or 5 times. We actually get to sink 1 pirate who got a bad spawn, but the rest get away without firing a single shot. We start getting annoyed, and decide to start to head out of the zone. We exit another pointless ad-hoc, and start moving together as a group. Again, as soon as ad-hoc invis drops we are tackled, but this time one of our members doesnt get pulled in with us. It turns out he had the "Preparing for Battle" debuff for a few seconds after ad-hoc invis dropped, and as such didn't get the auto join.

The pirate that pulled us in of course runs. But our member who was on top of the ad-hoc instance has now sailed past it (while he was clicking on it like crazy), and he then gets pulled by a seperate pirate group, who then is able to demast him and board him (which is fine - thats how solo players are supposed to lose ships to pirates).

I have 2 issues.

1. At no time have I ever seen FLS endorse engaging players in pvp when you have no intent to fight. This whole business back in closed beta with rafts etc ended up getting people banned. If they have changed their position on this style of play, then ok. But last I heard they haven't.

2. The "preparing your ship" debuff that is applied to you when you leave port or leave a combat instance should not allow your group to be intentionally split. It currently does, and I believe that is a broken mechanic. To then use that broken mechanic to achieve something that you should not be able to do to an organised and experienced PVP group in my opinion is an exploit.

These are the facts, and my opinion in relation to those facts. Your mileage may vary.
I've implemented some Group Ad-Hoc Joining revisions that might help this problem: http://www.burningsea.com/forums/sho...70&postcount=5

However, they won't be released until version 1.2 in March.

Unfortunately, no. Facebook's invitation system only allows for friend invites.

Approvals are still going. Remember, the list of approved content is NOT sorted by when it was approved, but by when it was submitted. If you don't see approvals after the 25th of January you must be looking in the wrong place

Since I am stuck waiting for my What about the men Captain quest to reappear, just wondering if I missed something.
"Love is a Battlefield" is also level 35. Remember that you can take quests five levels above your character's.

You won't be able to do Ibrahim's quests until level 30 or so. Until then, it's intended you do the romance missions and the scholar missions.

No, it's not a leak. But we went through and found all the missions that were not giving rewards (it's not specific to Grand Turk). We actually have a way to give you all the rewards for these missions retroactively. So, after the next patch, you will get all the riches and xp you deserve.

Good news for those who missed out on the lover's hanky.

I always take their feedback on difficulty with a great pinch of salt, realizing I'm asking something of them they're not properly equipped to supply.
Actually, our QA testers are quite reasonable when it comes to testing difficulty. They are aware that they are far better than the average player, and will consciously 'nerf' themselves when necessary. He tried it in another build and had a much more difficult time with it, in fact. There's no doubt this mission is very hard to solo.

On the other hand, it seems that plenty of players are able to do it. I'm going to look at it and play through it myself a couple times. I totally suck at our game, so if I can do it, anyone can. Regardless of whether changes get made, you're not going to see them in the next patch. Earliest would probably be first content patch, but I'm not promising anything.

What do you mean by that? You don't have to do anything to your account to play on Testbed, only install the bits, log in, and create a character.
