This is more about overall ship balance than current in-building ship projects, so I've moved it to the appropriate forum.

Good color recommendations are also found in the 2D Guidelines sticky, along with tons of other must-read advice for the would-be flag or sail maker.

Oops. I must have forgotten to unhide myself. Stupid GM commands...

At least until the next devchat on Roberts when some other guild demands my membership.

(Or maybe I'll be a French Naval Officer and stay in Lobotomy.)

This was the fourth time we've ever done this, so we're still learning the best way to do it. This kind of feedback is great to hear and will make the next 12 of these (on the other server/nation combinations) go more smoothly.

We've been surprising people with them so that we actually get only a moderate population in the chats. We would make the town pretty laggy if we dumped a couple hundred people into one room.

I may actually set up a new zone for future chats that isn't in a town so I don't have to worry about swamping a town.

I suppose when the other factions have their chats there is the potential for similar dislocation, but the timing was pretty awkward.
When we did the chat with England on Rackham they were being attacked by France and Spain at the time. Any time there's no warning it's possible something bad will be going on. Of course if we announced the time beforehand the enemy factions might find out and deliberately attack at that time.

Perhaps in the future the Devs could set up a time and place to meet up with certain factions at a time.. (so they don't get overwhelmed) ...I know alot of people in my faction missed out and would have loved to chat ....Just a thought ......and thanks again!
Oops! Sorry we missed you.

Setting up the time beforehand is something I'm trying to avoid (to keep the size of the crowd down) but maybe I could contact guild leaders who are online and let them spread the word to their members so more people can come without bringing in the entire offline population too.

Since pointless posts are well..pointless, that means that it would be pointless to continue.

You must be level 5 to use nation chat.

Right now, you run a recipe and it produces a single type of outfitting. Instead of producing outfitting, it'd have to produce a new item - the crate. We'd need a crate for every single type of outfitting. If we made crates do anything other than a single item type then we'd need to redo the recipes instead, negating any time saved on the creation of the crates. Crates are just a set of data, like every other item. There's no special crate object handling. Adding a new system to handle crating systematically would cost less time but it'd draw from a more limited resource pool, so it's the same basic issue.

I'm the wrong person for that question.

1 in thread Ummm... Urgent Fury? [Ask an FLS Developer!]
Hello all,

This is "Ask an FLS Developer" not "Argue Amongst Yourselves". GM Slycne is working on it and he'll report back. It makes it much harder to get good information to the Dev Team when a thread goes from reporting issues to fighting, trolling and flaming. If you want to make a discussion thread in the Discuss: Missions forum, you can do so as long as you're avoiding the flaming and trolling.

Thanks for your understanding,
Danicia
