We actually have a list of pre-typed responses that devs use to give feedback, since the same things need to be corrected in so many flags and sails. The above is one of those pre-typed responses, down to the letter.

As mentioned before, we're working on tuning the process -- while trying to deal with the myriad of other fires endemic to the first release of a brand new product. It may be a few weeks before it feels reliable and please accept our apologies for that. A little patience can go a long way.

We are listening to your feedback, too, so please keep constructive ideas coming. To quote the famed shipwright Sir Anthony Deane upon seeing the groundbreaking new French man o' war Superbe, however, "I shall remain silent in my observations." Please don't mistake that for indifference!

Gold sellers and farmers should be reported to us using a support ticket here. Our GMs do not comb the forums looking for reports.

That's a nice design! The only thing you'll need to change is the gradient in the text -- the smoothe transition between light grey and dark grey. That simply couldn't be dyed into cloth at such a scale in 1720, nor could it be embroidered directly onto the sail. Pick one shade of grey for the text and stick with it.

Otherwise it looks fine -- the text is calligraphic enough to be OK. For a decal covering less than half a sail, transparency is optional, but most decals look better with some transparency built into them anyway (opacity of about 70%).

Fore-and-aft sails come in a variety of configurations which may not be mapped identically, so there's no guarantee that what works on one sail will work on others.

That said, I'll try working on a test decal over the weekend and consult with Joram, our main ship processor. Any resolution to fore-and-aft sail mapping won't make it into the game for a couple more releases though, as they require actual work on the ship models themselves.

Let me say two things:

First, when we have external partners outside of our territory, it's a completely different relationship. We look to them for market knowledge and guidance, otherwise we wouldn't have a partner. So yes, they announce things on their own timing. And trust me, they're chomping at the bit and doing lots of heavy lifting to get things ready for release. It's a big deal to them, and a big deal to us, and so we're going to support them all the way, which includes (sniff!) me getting back on a plane again to go to Sydney.

Second, no, you won't have to buy the game again.
