1 in thread Input on original flag requested. [Flags and Sails]
RGB 50, 40, 30 is a great base for "black." The colours here are just on the good side of "acceptable" though, at least according to Colorzilla.

Can you file a support request? It doesn't look like your forum account synced up with your subscription. You can do that by clicking on "Support" in the upper corner. It will ask you for your Station ID/Password.

1 in thread Ahsatan's Flags and Sails [Flags and Sails]
Merged a couple threads, so now you have one place to preview all your flag and sail ideas.

Just two quick comments:

1) Some of the satin effect is really nice, particularly on small details of the flag. On larger areas, the effect tends to look like rippling, which is going to interfere visually with the flag shaders and animation. Use care when adding such effects to your work.

2) The "battlefield banner" is a fine idea, but it's not going to work that well in-game. Reason being: the loose "tail" needs to look like it's flying in the breeze, rather than being made out of stiff cardboard. That's going to be rather challenging here.

Generally excellent work, though

1 in thread Uncertain about this design [Flags and Sails]
A patched up flag idea is a fine idea, and for the most part this one is rather well executed. Be careful with tattering though: all the tatters along the top edge of the flag appear to be sticking out against the wind, as are the right-hand tatters in the centre hole.

Also, keep in mind that flags tend to show up darker in-game than when submitted, due to the coloured lighting to which they're subjected. While we wouldn't send your design back for that specifically, I can tell you that in-game this flag would look like a plain black flag until you're right on top of it. Caveat pictor.

1 in thread Rusty, your follow up comment on populations please? [Ask an FLS Developer!]
Actually, concurrency was a bit down last week, so you might be seeing that. Otherwise, we still have never agreed about the lowest server pop besides Bellamy. :-)

Honestly, I don't think saying anything about our numbers changes how any player feels about the game. If the pop is working for you, then you're happy. If not, what do you care about how the numbers are doing? You're still unhappy.

We both agree that the numbers are lower than they should be, at this point, we're just disagreeing on exactly what's going on, not the general course that we should follow to fix it.

But you still contend this obvious falsehood about adding more people than you are losing but even with this obfuscated new system we can see that is just not true.

Not trying to give you a hard time but what you are asking us to believe is just not what we can see happening. Be it the ever diminishing friends lists, the empty seas and stale game world, or even things like /whocount (when we could use it) or the server summary (the old logical way or the new cover it up way).

Every visible fact shows that what you are saying is just not true, we would like to think this is a mistake but the more you continue to offer it up the more it seems like an intentional deception. Meanwhile - our paid time in servers with far, far too few players to provide a rich and healthy game world tick off. I for one am beginning to feel a bit ripped off as I have paid for two months of play and yet to get but maybe a week of play that had enough players to be considered minimally healthy. The attached shows a screenie of the first day of the new system listing the best population (peak) during the period for the nations/servers compared to a screenie of the same today. What is obvious? Shrinkage is obvious - no addition, no growth, none of these supposed outpacing new subs. If what you said was true then surely one nation on one server would have upped its best showing as some point in the period - but instead todays shows all nations/servers the same or lower.

So where are all these new subs and players you keep talking about? they certainly are not on the server we have access to.

Also, if you can, try to run a traceroute when you get booted from the game.

1 in thread FLS - Please Respond [Ask an FLS Developer!]
Phil, I think that if you check out the threads in question, you will find some responses ready for you today.

Reposting threads like this isn't the best way to get our attention. Really friend, once you are on the radar, we don't lose you. It is just a matter of timing - we simply needed a couple extra days to tackle some issues behind the scenes.

In any case, let's all take a deep breath and relax just a bit, ok? As I've said before, we aren't ignoring you. We just don't conduct business like that, and we certainly don't want to treat our customers that way.

Finally, my apologies for the delay of a couple of days, it certainly wasn't intentional, nor was it meant as an affront to our players.

Best,
Aether
