omg yes. this was a hugely annoying bug... and has been fixed! watch for the improvements in the 1.2 patch coming soon.

fraxl, please put the code in, where i can see what member was the last online. this would very useful, we have now 80 guild members, but we dont know how often a member is!

please put this in, before the patch comes !

thx

dulce
sorry dulce, but it won't be in 1.2. there are some significant roadblocks to putting that in, but it's on our agenda for the future.

1 in thread Dev's what is the vision and role of the privateer? [Ask an FLS Developer!]
There are several problems with how things work now, and a lot of what we say is based on 1.2 where some of things problems have been reduced. First off:

1) Large-Huge scout ships are not as fast as they're supposed to be. The bug with their speed is fixed in 1.2, and may increase after we see how that works.
2) There's a problem with deceleration that makes it so that the warships aren't losing speed at the rate their supposed to. They're able to hit a point where their stats balance out and sustain a high speed and maneuverability instead of just constantly bleeding off. This breaks the balance for warships, because they aren't forced to stop what they're doing the way they're supposed to. Deceleration is a key component.
3) Some of the advantage for classes of ships is reliant on the skills from careers that are supposed to be better with them. There are many skill changes in 1.2.

In short, it's not working how we want and we started changing it quite some time ago and those changes are almost in play. It should be a lot better in 1.2.

you'll see this in the 1.2 patch! it goes to testbed today and is scheduled to hit the live servers on the 18th, barring unforeseen issues.

I think we need a society warehouse. Waiting for someone to come online to trade something is so time consuming. Also it would be nice to see your members lvl on the society section and if possible their location on the map. Maybe in yellow color. And how about an option to only receive whispers from people in your society and no one else. It'd be a good way to block spammers.
first, society warehouses are requested all the time. we know players want them and we want to do them too, but they're a pretty significant amount of work. if/when they do get put in, it will be as part of a larger set of big features.

you'll see members level and location in your society UI starting with the 1.2 patch.

society-only whispers would be somewhat problematic, because a lot of people don't ever join a society, but they still want to communicate privately with other players. we've implemented some other ways to block spam, one of which is the report spam feature in chat. you'll see that in the 1.2 patch as well

Right until your quick stab, I actually thought I was going to get it...
Quick stab doesn't mean incomplete. As I said, if there's any area I didn't cover then ask a question about it. Chances are, it'll be about something that's not what we want. I already commented on the two main areas that aren't where we want them. And the thread asked for a list, not "an in depth explanation of all pirate/national balance issues."

You're getting the wrong meaning from this. You can switch your ships around and try different options easier than a national.

That's listed as a negative. Not a bonus.

Can you tell me the name of the mission you were on? Or describe exactly what you had done up to that point?

1 in thread Marks of Victory - Need more options [Ask an FLS Developer!]
Point of durability on your current ship won't happen. It'd be too problematic to work on setup up a tangled mess of rules to handle different cases, because we certainly can't let you do that for a First Rate with anywhere near the same conditions as a Mediator. The turn ins don't scale the way your suggestion requires.

Marks of Victory will be getting a bunch more stuff added, including things you want to buy more than once.

Were I in your shoes, I'd be frustrated as well. Our customer service folks really do work hard to resolve these issues to everyone's satisfaction, but like all things, there are those grey areas where no one comes away feeling especially happy at the result.

Would you do me a favor and PM me your support ticket number, and we can take this conversation off-line? In additiona, I'll do some work from my side of the screen to gather as much information as possible.

Best,
