This isn't the end of the world here, folks; it's a glitch in User Content. You can still play the game and enjoy 99% of its content. The other 1% regrettably will look a bit odd until this is resolved.

While I understand your collective frustration and share with it fully (I want answers too, after all!), getting impatient won't help speed us toward any resolution. I truly cannot share updates before I get them. If I could, I'm sure I'd be a whole lot richer.

Could you clarify and expand on this please? I want to make sure I understand what you're saying.

I think what you're saying is "There's not enough open sea PvP because the risks in PvP (ship durability loss) are too high." Immediately we're addressing this by dramatically increasing doubloon drop amounts. I'm willing to believe that's not going far enough, but it hasn't hit live yet.

I also think that we don't give enough rewards for PvP in general, and for Open Sea PvP in specific, and I'm definitely interested in hearing plans to solve that (though I would suggest a new topic over in the suggestion forum).

Oooh, that's nasty. We'll talk about that and see what we think.

I'd also be concerned about elitism being used to get rid of lower level players. Afterall, in the minds of some rank 50 players, the presence of a rank 20 ship isn't going to make much difference in the battle so he's seen as a liability and just in the way.
We're designing it so that the number of votes needed is tunable, but the issue of guild exclusion and elitism is something I don't feel our current solution adequately addresses.

If we did any exposure of character data, we would have a Player Key assigned to each account, and characters owned by that account would only have certain points of data be exposed via calls that included that key in the call.

In other words, each player could decide who would have access to such data by requiring that player to give their key to the people writing the app for it to use.

And if we did that, we'd also ensure that players could generate a new key, so they could remove permission from apps they'd provided their old key, to.

See if you can log into the Station site and enter the activation there.

Adding NPC allies to the big: To Do list.

I'm keenly interested in the idea of giving attackers an incentive to accept 25% and 50% surrender. I like the idea of a faction hit for killing a ship that tries to surrender, and I'm interested to hear other suggestions in the same vein.

1 in thread Get rid of Radar [Community Suggestions]
The 'radar' is actually an abstraction of the information being reported to you by all the people on your ship.

The idea is, that while the captain may not personally see the Cutter sneaking up behind him, one of his men does and points it out. Most likely accompanied by frantic gesturing and profanity.

Well, that's how I see it anyway

Did not make it into 1.2, should almost certainly make 1.3.
