I've repurposed this thread to be your very own flag and sail preview area, so you can get feedback prior to submitting your work I'll also echo Anna's sentiments -- off to a great start, but just need to make a few adjustments to make sure they meet our 2D User Content Guidelines.

If you don't feel like you're getting anywhere with SOE, please file a support ticket on our site and someone can review it. You can do so by clicking on "Support" in the upper right corner of this page.

Make sure to include the steps you've tried and any errors you might be receiving.

As far as hints and tricks go...make sure you're using the Security PIN from the back of your VISA/MC. It goes in *two* different places. Also, check on your Station account that your address is *exactly* the same as your billing address. If they are off even slightly, it won't work.

This is to protect CC users. I know it's difficult to follow at times, but it's better than a non-secure system.

Good luck!

Yes, it's true - we're being a little tongue-in-cheek with our name for the new forum.

Rest assured, we're not trying to turn the game or forum into a haven of leet speak.

In all seriousness, we're hopeful that with your help the new forum will be a very useful resource. We know that many of you have some some really good gameplay insights to share with the wider community.

1 in thread Ship - Lady Washington [Shipwright Discussion]
Unclosed

I do need to point out though, we are currently looking for ships built between 1660 and 1740. As such, the Lady Washington's plans could not be used without some modification, primarily to the rig and to the beakhead. It's not clear to me if you're looking to model the ship yourself, or if you're suggesting to the community that someone model her, so I'll hold off on further comment until that's clear.

The best way to go about this is to:

1) Read the 2D User Content Guidelines to get a good idea what we're looking for in User Content;

2) Post a preview in this forum (start a thread such as "Jane Vanguard's Flags and Sails") to get community feedback;

3) Once you're happy with your design and confident it meets our guidelines, then you can follow the link from our front page to submit your flag or sail.

Then it's primarily a matter of time before your flag or sail is either approved or sent back for more work.

Once it's approved you can visit your faction's starter town -- Charlesfort (France), Vera Cruz (Spain), Jenny Bay (Britain), and Marsh Harbour (Pirate) -- and buy your design for a nominal fee.

No. Offense/Defense values are integers. Offhand, I can't think of any other combat stats that are integers.

They fire sequentially. That's why you see variable damage in a single broadside when a target has armor - the amount of armor absorption and DR is changing with each hit. Fire a broadside against someone who has no armor, and every shot does the same damage.

Yes. You have to buy the game like everyone else did.

It's not a trader. It's much more offensively orientated, but a lot of that offense is through subversion.

Critical hit wouldn't be much different than what you already see in reload and damage modifiers. It's a simple increase to DPS, not a devastating effect. We could use it anywhere we want. +X% chance to deal +Y% (double) damage.

The specifics of their economic abilities haven't been determined. Keep in mind that it's not possible for pirates to capture and retain enemy ports, whereas nationals can capture enemy ports and stabilize them for FTs. Overall, the Buccaneer has less economic abilities than the FT, but is good in a few economic areas.
