1 in thread Devs - What does this mean? [Ask an FLS Developer!]
Apparently I should have responded as soon as I saw this pop up, perhaps to alleviate some of the thread's ballooning symptoms. :P

You're always supposed to get marks of cargo from a defeated opponent in PvP. If that's not true (like in this case), it's a bug.

We know what the problem is and we're working on the fix.

Post here if you'd like to request one from a current PotBS Player or if you have keys you'd like to offer to non-subscribers.

Cheers!

1 in thread citation of conquest and the will to fight ? [Ask an FLS Developer!]
Citations are only for victory, not for port battles. Adding rewards for the resolution of each port battle is on our list.

This is something we've always wanted to do, but has never made it to the top of the heap.

That animation was really funny when the old bar maid was doing it.

If that was an official response, provided by FLS staff as a reason for sending your decal back for more work -- I certainly agree that's rude and unprofessional. If anyone experiences something like that I need to be informed via PM or via a support request right away. Unfortunately, subsequently "withdrawing" your work means I cannot see who processed your work or what actual response was given. I'll apologise anyway, since that is clearly not how staff are instructed to give feedback.

I got really upset when I noticed that there is a Society on Robert's Server that flys a flag which is a "Chalk Line" representation of a Red Circle With a Slash - Like the international symbol for "DON'T"
The "No" symbol is the game's current default, displayed when User Content doesn't load into your client correctly. It's not a submitted, approved sail or flag design.

Yes, the system is currently flawed. That is both why we are working on User Content 2.0 and why we have an appeals process of which anyone may avail themselves if they think their flag or sail was sent back inappropriately. Our customer experience with User Content isn't anywhere near what we want it to be yet, but until UC 2.0 is live and running, we all have to make do with what we have.

Meanwhile, enjoy the game -- and watch the news section for updates.

1 in thread Shaped flags in GIMP? [Flags and Sails]
Split off the "tutorials and resources" thread, which is for links to -- guess what? -- tutorials and resources

I don't have an answer to your question immediately, but a search on transparency and GIMP should help get you to the info you need.

Happy drawing!

1 in thread Am I losing my mind? [Discuss: PvP and Conquest]
They were 60 as a known side-effect from increasing contention server-side to save from having to distribute a client build at that time.

1 in thread Bigpond User Content [Flags and Sails]
We know this is frustrating and apologise that it's taking so long to resolve. Believe me, we all want User Content to work to its fullest, and for all our customers -- irrespective of what region they're in -- to enjoy this part of the game.

We have been testing ourselves blue in the face, and so far have not been able to reproduce this problem in house, though. That makes it rather hard to fix the problem, much less diagnose it. It also makes it hard to provide useful updates on the situation or an ETA for a fix. Apologies if we should have made that clearer during this time.

It's become quite apparent we need more information on what's going on, because obviously something is amiss for some of our customers. In our efforts to nail this one once and for all, you'll be seeing some of our more technical folks posting in this thread within the next couple days as we try to find what's breaking UC for some Australian customers.

Meanwhile, it's come to our attention that some customers are attempting to connect to both our North American/European servers, AND our Australian server, while running only one single install of the game. As the two game clients are in fact somewhat different, this could be interfering with your ability to enjoy UC. If you're one of these customers and your User Content isn't working in the game, please update your ticket with the steps you've taken to try to connect to both regions.

Thanks for your help and detailed support tickets and replies to our Customer Service and technical staff, which will be critical making sure everyone can enjoy their User Content.
