1 in thread Bigpond User Content [Flags and Sails]
As Marion notes, we haven't been able to reproduce this problem, either locally, or connecting to the AU servers with an AU install, so whatever help we can get to find a reproducible case would help us find and fix this as soon as possible.

I've updated the tickets with this information; please update the tickets with this information (though feel free to post here, as well). For folks that are having a problem purchasing User Content that they have approved, please do file a ticket with this information.

Post the full path of your My Documents > Pirates of the Burning Sea > userContent directory.

Provide the count, names, and file sizes of any files in the userContent cache currently.

Go to your Nation’s starter town, to the Flags and Sails Customizer, and check for flags and sails; take a screenshot of the Shop window when it’s open (use the in-game mechanism by pressing ‘P’, as well as using the Windows mechanism with Print Screen), then quit and exit the game again.

Provide the count, names, and file sizes of any files in the userContent cache currently.

Check that the screenshot you took in-game appears in the My Documents > Pirates of the Burning Sea > screenshots directory.

Did you have the Station version of the game installed before installing the Bigpond version? If so, did you remove it entirely before installing the Bigpond version? If not, are the Bigpond and Station versions completely separate (except for the My Documents > Pirates of the Burning Sea) from each other?

Thanks for your patience and help!

Artwork is automatically copyrighted upon creation, "license" or no. I've talked to lawyers about this as part of my job in the art world I cannot stress that enough, as it's commonly misunderstood, even among art professionals.

And while you're right, the risks may seem minimal, fact is if we're made aware of copyright violations we'll pull a UC submission -- even approved -- in a heartbeat. We're not going to go on a witchhunt though.

In either case, it's a good thing a LOLCAT would be too out-of-period to use as an in-game flag for PotBS

Actually, quite the contraire, the whole idea of the shallows prompted a bunch of ideas of how we could create very different PvP experiences for people. What we'd been hung up on before with shallows is that the idea that as you're sailing around, you could see the shallows visually in the world, and that it would be a gradual change. That, fundamentally, it's really, really, really hard to do, so we put it off for the indefinite future.

Then, it occurred to us (from this thread) that shallows can be a game mechanic. They don't need to be a gradual change, they can be a state that we put on a port and its PvP. That opens up a whole world of possibilities to expand out what we provide for in PvP.

If you're level 50, it automatically converts your experience books into loot books.

"doesn't want" is actually "how soon can I..."

We were talking about this yesterday, and noted that part one of the fix that affects relatively few people will take significantly longer. Part two of the fix that would solve the endless "in contention" of ports is relatively trivial to fix, so we're including it in 1.3.

We're making changes in these directions. What we've been doing up until now is fixing the issues that came up with live. A lot of it is in 1.2 and 1.3 (including a different reward structure for PvP to better incent it) and more will be in 1.4. 1.4 is when we start building out the game (beyond Elite missions) for significant new changes and .expansion.

As for end game content, currently, it's PvP. Obviously, we need to build out elder game content for PvE players as well, and that's in the plans.

Incorrect. I cannot say who why when or how much due to confidentiality concerns, but I am familiar with non-profit organisations who have been called on the carpet for violating copyright in scholarly publications (specifically, reproducing images without license, even with full credit given to the artist[s] and estate[s] involved), and who been compelled to pay reparations.

This is why Clip-Art and free webware is safe to reproduce here in the UC.
No, it isn't, unless it's explicitly copyright-free, public domain, or distributed under some form of unlimited free license (e.g. through Creative Commons). Not only is that our policy, but we believe it's our legal responsibility.
