I meant what I said about distributing the load in my update on UC 2.0. Hang in there folks -- the light is visible at the end of the tunnel. And no it is not an oncoming train.

That is certainly true. Copying characters to testbed when it is running a different version from the live servers is on the plan, we just wanted to give people a chance to copy at all, so we released it early without the multi-version support.

We tried to warn everybody as best we could, but obviously lots of people didn't get a chance to copy their characters before we pushed 1.3 to testbed and took the copy service offline.

Is it just the AH that's bothering you for the background (walla) voices? If you're sick of the harbor master etc., you can turn him off by turning down the vocalization slider in your audio prefs.

We are all tring hard to help you guys bang out the bugs in Test so they don't make it to live. But if they don't make it on test we can't really help.

I would rather have to patch 12 times a day on test and get to test the fixes before they go live then have the issue come up that we have in the past.
I don't think we'll be making the all tab show by default. Here's why: some of the exchange shops (the Eurotraders, for instance) have TONS of stuff in that tab. We wanted to make it as easy as possible for you to get in and get out once you know what you want to turn in. The all tab is more for planning and researching rather than fast action.

Also, the changes I mentioned above will be pushed to testbed before they go live. The only time we push something to live without going through testbed first is when it's super critical. Mike fixed that bug literally five minutes before I posted that comment, which is why you haven't seen it yet. We can't really update the game every time someone makes a change... we have to do it in batches, which is why you see build numbers like 1.3.25, etc.

You know, we talked about doing custom chat channels, but we pushed it off the list for now because we thought a lot of other chat stuff would be more important...

Imagine a time in the future when you can create up to 8 custom chat tabs*. How important would it be (on a 1 - 10 scale) for you to be able to create custom chat channels in those tabs? If it is important to you, how will you use it?

By custom channels, I mean you would be able to make a channel called DOOMOFFICERS or something like that and whoever you invite can go talk in it.

* I'm using 8 as an example. No guarantee any of this is going to happen... I just want your thoughts. :-)
