I kind of feel like we should get something... but that's just me.
If you are close to a win you could just finish winning before you transfer. You have a month until the servers are locked, which is 4 server victory checks.

Or you could go to your new server and throw your weight behind your nation there to get a win in the new environs.

In addition to creating an archive of those forum areas devoted to servers we have put on ice, we will also be moving relevant threads to their new homes.

We will be sharing additional information on our forum re-organization plans in the near future.

Best,

If you don't have enough lots on the target server the transfer will abort and tell you why it didn't go through. You'll need to clear out lots on either the source or destination server to make room. (Or just move to another server.)

I hit R instead of V. I corrected it in the original. It's "move around more".

I understand your concerns.

a) consolidation really doesn't increase the spamming, because the spamming per se is usually done in an automated way.
b) It'll change the time to load into a port (as we'll have more people walking around) but at the same time we're doing this, we're dramatically reducing the overhead of our ships. It should be a balance or a net gain. Some people associate any perceived lag with server lag, but in truth, we wouldn't be doing this if we didn't have empirical data that the servers could handle it.
c) We're making some changes to the red circles (that we talked about last week, and more this week) to have them more around more, so they won't be as problematic for PvE players to run missions. Also, I'm hoping that with sufficient density of players, we'll start getting more convoy action going.
d) See answer C about moving the red circles around.

So, with your brillant idea, this means that all my society (English), the Spanish and Pirates would have to go to an english speaking server on a side where almost nobody speaks the same language as us.

We will end up, on the English side, removing all that will just cancel their subscription, 40 players at most playing with Brits.

Let me guess, you dont care, do you?
Hornigold and Bonnet are, in my mind, the sad part of this situation. Neither one had enough players for all four nations to really function. And yet the fact that these servers are language-specific means that rolling them into other servers is much more difficult that it is when both the server you're coming from and the server you're going to speak English.

I would suggest that French-speaking and German-speaking players each pick a server and move there en mass. You can obviously keep speaking whatever language you like in all the global chat channels. This isn't a very satisfying answer, I realize, but given the size of the populations on Hornigold and Bonnet, it is really the only option we had.

France and Spain are roughly the same population-wise and both have significantly lower populatiosn that both England and Pirate. Yet France and Spain seem to have no problem winning server victories on servers where they have a certain minimum population. These character transfers will push both France and Spain over that minimum population on EVERY server. That puts France and Spain in butt-kicking range everywhere, not just on a few of the servers.

Quite a few people are drawn to the side with fewer players because of the greater sense of community and increased ability to really stand out. The transfers allow people to do that AND have an ability to compete. I think it will be ok even without nation transfers. It will certainly be MUCH MUCH BETTER.

Potentially, it's wrapped up in some work we're doing for the Russian release.
