We've been investigating the problem with people getting kicked out of port battles this morning, and have learned a few things:
1) This only happens on the middle attacker door in the Wild Keys room. We tested every other door in every room and they all have room for 24 104s (or more).
2) The first 11 players out the door are able to spawn without any problem. Depending on what ships they're in, it could be more than 11 that make it into the ship room. This is coming up more now because of increased populations thanks to the character transfers.
3) It's not entirely clear, but this might be a bug that's been around since at least October. There was a change to this room in 1.3, but it didn't change the nav mesh, which is what was having the problem.
4) The specific problem was that the navigation mesh in Wild Keys isn't contiguous for the parts of the room outside the islands themselves. This doesn't matter when you're sailing and fighting, but our spawn code checks the nav mesh first when it figures out where to put you. When the spawning code can't find a place to put someone it falls back to their previous zone, which is why you ended up in whatever town you were in before the battle.
We have the room fixed and will be pushing it out in 1.4. In the meantime, we will be turning off the Wild Keys battle room with our next live push. It's not clear if that's tonight or tomorrow night yet, but it will be very soon.
