1 in thread Skirmish system ETA? [Ask an FLS Developer!]
I don't have a firm estimate for when the Skirmish System will be available to you. We'd love to have it out tomorrow, but there is a lot of work involved in this system. As soon as I know more I'll let you know.

Hello folks,

This one went nowhere fast. Let's remember the forum rules. Folks can post what they wish as long as they don't violate the community rules. Folks can respond as long as they don't break the community rules.

If you're unsure of why threads get locked or why you might receive a notice about a post, you can read the Community Rules.

Let's bring this forum back to the pleasant place it used to be.

Cheers,
Danicia

1 in thread Customer support is horrible [General PotBS Discussion]
Hello all,

We do encourage people to discuss and even debate almost whatever they wish. As long as people do not break the PotBS Forum Rules & Expectations, you can discuss your thoughts on the game.

However, if you do want to respond to a post where folks have expressed frustration or dissatisfaction, you should also be following the PotBS Forum Rules & Expectations.

Specifically, these rules:

- Do not abuse new users
Remember that new users will not always know where to find information that may be common knowledge to the seasoned forum user.

-No Flaming
While debate and discussion are encouraged, we will not tolerate rude or insulting posts, personal attacks or inflammatory posts of any kind.

Nope, there's no reason to switch. This program isn't targetted at you guys, it's targetted at a more casual group of potential players, most of whom have never heard of us.

Yeah, it sucks. It really, really sucks.

What do you think we'd be doing without Bigpond? Remember that big LOTRO rollout? The TR release? Did you ever actually see any advertising whatsoever for any of those games in Australia?

The fact is, it takes a big company and a big push to really make anything happen in any territory. Bigpond's taking the lead in making the MMO market happen here. Nobody else has the vision or the resources to push this in the same way.

Early feedback: Yes, you're correct. There's too much risk for the reward.

isildur is often overlooked but has done a great job so far so i hope you can find a way to do what's right for potbs & it's future.

We all appreciate what he has done for Potbs & with some relative minor alterations he could make a huge difference to the future overall game.

1 in thread Auctioneer: Turn him back on gr [Ask an FLS Developer!]
I'm really happy to see that some of you have a soft spot in your hearts for the auctioneer! I certianly do . I ended up taking his voice entirely out because right now, technically, there isn't a good way for us to cut down the amount of times he speaks reliably. Plus some of you hate him soooo much!!! Poor guy.

I've always thought that a great solution would be to have him chatter away until you open a text box, and then have him shut up. I mean, you're talking to him anyway, why should he be talking to anyone else? I haven't talked to development about this yet to find out what it would require for code support. What do you think about the idea? I really would like to find some kind of compromise. I want you ALL to be happy. Help me find out what would be the perfect solution in your mind, and then I'll talk to development and find the most realistic solution based on that! You all spend a lot more time playing the game then I can (sniffle sniffle).

And... foxspirit, a female auctioneer is an awesome idea. I think maybe we didn't ever have them because I didn't have female auctioneer audio, but now that we don't have audio on him/her anyway, we should have some females around.

As always, thanks for listening.

Yes, I know it's not where the tavern is normally at, I know it's that door by the docks, but still -- it doesn't light up and I can't enter the instance.
Don, were you able to access the door by clicking 'x' near it?

DO NOT change pirates.ini. That file will indeed be overwritten every time you run LaunchPad. If you don't have a pirates_local.ini, you can create one in Notepad. The settings in pirates_local.ini will override those in pirates.ini. (In other words, the game reads pirates.ini and then checks pirates_local.ini so the settings there are the final word.) Hope that helps!
