I'd like to chime in here with two notes:
1) There are some very well written, spot-on replies in this thread. Great to see positive, constructive response to what started out on a very negative foot -- that's why the User Content community rocks.
2) While some people do go overboard in interpreting the
2D User Content Guidelines, in most cases if someone suggests that you've used colors that are too bright or shading techniques not possible in sewn fabric during the period, it's worth at least stopping and listening. They've probably read said guidelines, which are official Flying Lab Software word on what we're looking for in flags and sails. Most people don't go out of their way to "put down other peoples' work;" a good number
do go out of their way to try and provide helpful feedback, advising you on where FLS has established the goalposts. I laud their efforts
