Probably the best solution for that is to simply send me a PM with the item's ID, and what you want the name changed to.

Intent of post successful. Probable chance of it going down hill.

No, but you can bet it'd probably not make it past the user voting, and certainly wouldn't make it past the staff review.

Someone looking and deciding 'I've never seen that before' then hitting approve clearly wouldn't be good enough, so how are you going to tell?
That's the task of the reviewers, doing the great job they've always done.

From the technical end, however, we've added a filter to upload (that we didn't have before) that prevents duplicate items from being uploaded, and added the sail and sky compositing to make it more difficult for people to snag items for upload, so instances of someone taking your item and uploading it should be rarer and much more work than before.

Items are not rejected from the Reported queue except if they are, in fact, copyright violations or offensive. Anything else gets put back into the general queue in short order.

I believe one item has been rejected for copyright violation after getting reported; the few others have all already been restored to the voting pool.

Right now, there are under 50 flags in the system, compared to over 200 sails -- approximately one in five voting pairs will be flags, so it can take several pairings before you see a flag, and quite a few before you see a specific flag.

Looks like that got broken just before the new build. Fixed.

I filed a bug report a few weeks back:

[Incident: 080329-000099]

The response on 4/11 said the matter was known and fixed in a future patch.

I did a little digging. This is fixed in 1.4 which is on testbed right now. If you have a testbed account, give it a whirl and let us konw if you're still seeing the problem.

When you get that symbol, it means that for some reason (most commonly network slowness) the UC didn't download properly.

When you get it, quit the game client, delete the files inside your My Documents > Pirates of the Burning Sea > userContent directory, then check the item again in the game.

If you still get the symbol after that, file a support ticket, and we'll get it sorted out.

Actually so far no-one in my Soc as far as I know has threatened to rage-quit, so I'm sure some people will but doubt it will much exceed natural attrition... As long as people feel they are vaguely part of the club anyway. But again, secret to that is reminding all us insecure Aussies and Kiwis from time to time that you remain aware of the other hemisphere. Cheers.
Yep. We just sent off the new step by step plan, and we've got the communication mapped out as well to let you guys know what's going on.

No, it's a way to have:

1. A paper trail
2. To get an issue escalated *above* the moderation team

Our team, which is more than just me, moderates the forums per the forum rules & guidelines that Aether has set out. As he's mentioned numerous times, if you have issue with the rules or moderation, you should talk to him directly.

Once an item is approved, it's intended to become available in game immediately. Over the weekend, this wasn't in place (it was not something we were comfortable rolling out on a Friday, and didn't expect any items to be available for approval, let alone get approved, over the weekend), but items approved over the weekend are now in place, and there shouldn't be any delay between approval and being available in game going forward.
