You can't overwrite your character but you can copy again if you give him a new name.

Testbed is a really useful tool that allows players to try out a build before it goes live. The downside is that it takes time and energy to level up characters on a test server, and that means we don’t get as much test feedback as we’d like to see. To that end, we are introducing the Character Copy tool to allow you to copy existing characters from other servers onto Testbed. That means they’ll be ready and able to test the latest features right away.

Here’s how it works:

1) Log out and exit the game.
2) Log into the Pirates of the Burning Sea website.
3) Finally, open the Character Copy page and follow the steps presented there.

You can copy as many of your characters to Testbed as you like, but normal server restrictions apply to the Testbed server (including, for example, the number of characters you can have on Testbed, or the number of economic structures you can own).

A few things will not be copied over with your character:

» Auction listings.
» In-game mail sent to the character while you were logged out.
» Accumulated landmark unrest.
» Any association with a society the character has.

The Character Copy tool will be up for a limited time, so copy your character now and get testing. We appreciate your help!

A GM should be able to fix you.

Most firewalls have hotkeys to allow/deny internet access, including remembering the setting. You can hit those keys to give commands to the firewall popup even if you can't see the popup. R (remember) then A (allow) is a common combo.

Are you watching when they respawn, or when they die?

The wave is not consumed on death. It's consumed on respawn. The NPCs wait for their timer to expire before respawning, while players in PvE tend to respawn immediately.

Joining ASAP reduces the likelihood of the bad spawns, but it doesn't prevent them.

SOE say they have fixed it. And this time it worked for me.

Correct on both accounts. You need to get XP to get an MoV.

There's a bug that's causing these spawns.

Here's my playpotbs.exe in case that helps anyone. Put it in your main Pirates folder and run from there. May or may not work - I'm not sure if there are supporting files or such that are needed.
