Looks like a couple of things.
First, when you subscribe, you need a valid payment method. To verify, SOE will send a request as it were, to your CC company for $1.00. This is to verify that the card is valid and belongs to you. This is pretty common for purchases via credit card (at least, here in the US).
It sounds like they're rejecting your card. The "charges" will disappear; they're not really charging you, just asking the CC company/bank if it is a valid card. They're not actually billing you. It's a "hold" as it will. As example, when I purchase something in a store, it "holds" a certain amount of my available funds until the charge completely processes. That's what these dollar charges are.
What you'll need to do is use a valid method of payment to get the subscription going. When you get a game card, you can cancel the credit card payment and use the game card instead.
