I think so, as long as you're super careful not to delete anything that should be there. The piggs directory accounts for 97% of PotBS's on-disk size. Removing that will free up a big chunk without too much risk.

What can I do to correct this and play full-screen. I assume that the game would run smoother full-screen. I'm noticing alot of 'hitching' lately where my ship will freeze, then suddenly warp and/or turn to a new position.

Thanks!

We are trying to fix the flashing interanlly. It does seem to correlate to your desktop reolution and your antialias settings. In our internal tests, we've found that lowering your anti-aliasing settings in the NVidia control panel (to 4x or less) seems to correct it. To do this, right click on your desktop, open up the NVidia Control panel, change your 'Antialiasing-Mode' to 'override application', and set 'Antialiasing - Setting' to '2x' or '4x' or 'off'. We have people here and at NVidia frantically trying to get a fix to you, but if you could try changing your antialias settings in the meantime, and report back, we'd be eternally grateful.

I dont know what could be causing this. I just got a new XFX8500GT a new mobo and cpu with a 450W PSU.

Never had this happen on my 6600GT in Beta.

Any chance you could post me a dxdiag? It would help a bunch.

Your specific problem is almost certainly related to Packeteer.

If you can, file a seperate support ticket for each of these issues. Be sure to attach a client log file from when the incident happened (these logs are in "My Documents\Pirates of the Burning Sea\log").

For crashes try to include a dump file as these help us diagnose the problem much faster. Read support KB article 112 on how to get the dump.

Not to be a "Nancy know-it-all" but Schilling currently is a Three-time World Series chamption.

Boston Redsox 2004
Boston Redsox 2007

So what if he has a character in game, if anything his purpose is to create publicity for the game. I love turning on a post game interview with Curt Schilling and he is wearing an Everquest hat. I do have to comment on the fact Schilling actually plays the game he advertises for unlike Shatner and company.
Thanks for the correction, Nancy!

For the same reason I don't ask my plumber to paint my house.

Yes, there are bugs in our game, and we're absolutely working to fix them, but the guys who fix issues with character art don't script encounters and vice versa. One of the many reasons we're working on this group content now is that we can do it without significant art or programmer time, leaving those assets free to work on fixing existing bugs.

Those of you that are on campuses that are experiencing problems:

Please contact the campus IT staff and find out why they're blocking our game, then open an FLS support request with contact information for your campus IT folks. We'll try to work with them to get it unblocked.

I'm actively working with Packeteer to get our signature added so they'll stop detecting us as Peer to Peer.
