1 in thread Population increase after launch? [General PotBS Discussion]
There are fairly established multiples for new users based on pre-orders vs. launch. Our predictions and servers are based on those multiples.

Do you get an error when it tries to open? Have you rebooted your machine and tried again?

Once you're below the edge of what we recommend you can get all sorts of bottlenecks that we weren't expecting. It can even happen at machines at the recommended point, because machines used to run at all sorts of different performance, even with the same specs. Good riddance AGP!!

1 in thread Stable Nvidia Drivers - re: Crashing. [Known Issues / Troubleshooting]
I'd had success with the 162.52 drivers on the XP side, but hadn't found a good Vista one yet. Your posts are extra helpful.

Thanks!

The video card companies are always trying to make changes to their drivers to improve performance and fix problems. They make what they believe are non-destructive improvements, but then they roll it out and it creates issues with some games. What we believe we're seeing here is a combination of us fixing an anti-aliasing problem (it was sometimes not being set correctly to on) and Nvidia rolling out new drivers with an issue in how they do antialiasing.

Repro was kind of a nightmare for a while, though, as pretty much everybody in the company has a dual monitor set up, and that gets rid of the problem.

I think it is version 81.85 for series 6 and FX cards. Anyway seeing that sony has a hand in this I figured they went to a more stable version of drivers . I am now running with no lagg or glitching. All reflections and graphics are set at default and I no longer have any issues. Read around the EQ forums for drivers for your particular cards. My bet is if they work for EQ they will work on PoTBS. GL

I still think that the issue may lie somewhere else besides the video card itself.
Plus, if you have multiple monitors, that seems to fix the problem.

Yes. There are some reasonable posts and posters on the site, but you have to do a sizeable amount of filtering to get to them.
