- move people over at random and see what happens?
- move people over in a planned manner with no notice (similar to this incident)?
- let the new server start from zero like in pre-boarding?
It seemed that one of the biggest issues was the lack of notice that this was coming down the pipe, and much of the anger could have been avoided if everyone had a week or so to prepare before the switch was pulled.

I'ts a good series of questions.
1) Probably. We did it for the Austalian release, and I'm pretty pleased with what they've done on that server. Now that the disks are finally hitting shelves, we'll see how that translates for the new user experience.
2) No.
3) No.
4) Obviously, we've been working on this for a while. In fact, I made a lot more hints about it than I should have in another thread (I'm particularly disappointed no one got my fly in the server reference), but we didn't want to announce because we wanted to make sure we had the specific details of how the transfer process would work before we talked about it, and that required 100% vetting of the server tools. We didn't want to announce something this volatile without having all of the details in place.
