We have a bug in with SOE stating that PlayPotBS.exe needs to be signed to prevent the 'unidentified program' dialog.

You should still expect UAC to pop a dialog "This program requires elevated privileges" because such privileges are required to patch files in the Program Files directory. Most programs and games don't require an integrated patch solution, so they don't need to request access to write to Program Files, so they don't trigger UAC. MMOs do require this kind of access.

Yeah, there are a lot of improvements to be made with maps. It's pretty high up the list of the things the UI strike team is set to improve.

- It HAS crashed a couple of times but that's after playing for hours, and always when entering a new area so it's no big deal to me.

- The towns feels a bit like entering a dungeon in the aspect that there's no freedom of movement ...why can't I stray off the path ...why can't I get drunk and fall in the water?

- The questlist could use some work. Like categorizing the quests and letting us see the objectives listed at the bottom of the questnotes. I mean you don't always want to have to read through all the text of a quest.

All in all it's a fantastic game and it's giving me incentive to level up so I can commandeer bigger and badder ships.
Thanks for this feedback! I'm happy to say that we're working on the camera stuff and on quest lists.

If you've had problems over the past few weeks logging into the Support site while logged in (via http://www.burningsea.com/support), please try again. We've identified a problem with the support system software and have put in a work-around.

We don't anticipate there being any further problems, but if you still cannot log in, please post to this thread and PM me with the URL you end up on after logging into the support site (don't post the URL publicly).

Thank you for your patience as we worked to fix this tricky problem!

It would be great to be able to do more player created content like that, but unfortunately it doesn't work so well for audio! Voice acting is actually very difficult to do. Additionally, all recording has to be done in a studio environment so that the recording quality is high enough to use in game. We did something similar to your suggestion early on, and it didn't work out.

I took audio off the auctioneer awhile ago, it'll be in game for you guys pretty soon. If the voices drive you crazy, you can turn them off by going to your audio preferences and turning down the vocalization fader. We hope to do more voice work in the future!

The problem with the server list not showing up and getting the UDP error was fixed on Saturday so now we're back, I think, to folks with individual issues w/ their routers or firewalls or such. Or their university and Packeteer. But, lockout, I don't get your meaning. Perhaps you should log a support request describing the problem.

Alright guys. Let's all take a deep breath and -- RELAX.

Like has been said several times before, the fix is waiting to go out in the next patch. No, I can't make that happen any sooner. And if they say they have important fixes they want to wait for, then I would trust them to make that decision.

The problem with this mission came with the renaming of several deeds. The old xebec used to be called an 'Algiers' xebec. Then I had the idea to put in a reward for players who have helped the Algerians by giving them a cool xebec refit. Then this got changed to be the polacre, because the level was more appropriate. Sometime during beta, the name of the polacre deeds were changed. This failed to get updated in the mission file, which then prevented players from turning it in. I tracked down the problem and submitted it for test. Now we wait.

So, now you know everything I know. Welcome to the exciting world of game development!
