And not able to sell on the AH? Doesn't this stop them from really enjoying the game over the trial-period?
The chat restrictions are there to limit goldspammers and jerks harassing other nations on their own server. The unrest-generation limits are there for the jerks, and so are the AH limits to a certain extent.

Many of the other restrictions (including the level cap) are designed so that people can get enough a free taste of the game to decide if they want to buy it. We don't want to give them the entire game during the trial, but they should have plenty of time to decide if they like it. We picked level 12 so they could get up to the cutter, which is the first big ship upgrade.

We've increased the trial account level cap to 50 while we're waiting for Monday's testbed push to stop flagging everyone as a trial account. All the other restrictions are still in place, but everyone should be able to level now.

I think someone else mentioned this, but it's because you're flagged as a trial account. It will be fixed Monday.

If that were a more useable interface (would alphabetical order be so hard?), one could be more exact.
Adding sorting to this UI is on the UI Strike Team's list for 1.5. They won't have time for a full revamp, but it will be better in 1.5.

Obviously we didn't intend it this way, but since everybody is testing trial accounts, I would love to get any feedback or bug reports you have on how that feature works.

1 in thread Help Us Test User Content 2.0! [Flags and Sails]
Unless they're identical, one design will always be a little closer to "ready" than the other. Which means that your vote still helps weed out the design that isn't ready.

The chances of that same design you reluctantly voted for getting paired with the other one you just saw (and did not vote for), or one of similar unreadiness, are rather slim. So while you may have "voted it up" one, it will get passed over many more times than that.

Keep the feedback coming, and enjoy!

1 in thread Help Us Test User Content 2.0! [Flags and Sails]
We are very excited to announce that we will be beginning public testing of our new User Content 2.0 initiative today! While we’ve done extensive internal testing, it is important to us that we gather your feedback and experiences before these new User Content features are installed in a more permanent fashion.

We’ll run this test throughout the weekend, allowing our customers to try out the new voting process, as well as post new flag and sail submissions for review. We will in turn be spending some time making sure our admin process is in order by approving user content submissions using an exciting suite of UC 2.0 administrative features that will significantly improve the speed in which your items are approved for use in game.

We want to thank everyone for their patience during this time, we sincerely hope you enjoy our efforts. We look forward to adding your thoughts and suggestions to the process!

If you would like to help test UC 2.0, make sure you visit this link!

Best,
Aether
